The downside? Long distances between atolls; meager provisions on Majuro (the outer islands have only coconuts); some uncomfortable anchorages; some tricky launches; considerable risk of violent squalls. We recommend the Marshall legs for those members who really are seeking some epic adventure but also everything that goes along with it. This is one of the hardest places we operate and it's just impossible to guarantee conditions. Logistically it doesn't get much more difficult.
This trip begins and ends in Majuro- a dry dirty place that is typical of poor ports the world over. From Majuro we make a short crossing to nearby Arno Atoll, a stunning place with several fantastic wave options and some very good anchorages. Depending on weather and swell we'll then head north to Aur atoll and possibly Maloelap Atoll, where we have only briefly explored in the past. Both have solid wave potential, miles of lagoon options, both- like the rest of the Marshalls, completely clean unencumbered wind.
Inbound and outbound airport is Majuro (MAJ), which is serviced directly from Honolulu by United Airlines.
This trip has one cabin available to non-members of the Quest. Please email if you are interested for details.
