Want to live in a postcard for 10 days? Here you go. Rangiroa, Tikehau - reef and lagoon paradise. Moorea - mountain, anchorage, hiking, surf, kiting paradise. French Polynesia has 5 distinct island groups. This trip gives you a taste of both extremes - the lagoon atolls of the Tuamotus, and the lush vertical cloud-shrouded Society islands that have captivated explorers, artists, and poets since Captain Cook landed there 3 centuries ago. This adventure has a mix of it all. Moorea and Tahiti are easily two of the most stunning landfalls in the world, and the run from Tikehau to Moorea is a great reach - last time around it was one of our best sails of the season (except for the part where we lost a fish that was so big the recoil put the lure on deck)! Landfall there in Cook Bay will blow your mind. With a bit of luck, Humpback whales and dolphins are still around that time. Like I said- a postcard. This trip has one overnight crossing (24 hrs+ at sea)

Even flying to the Tuamotus from Tahiti is a delight. You look down there and see the deep blue and turquoise colors surrounded by this fine line of coral and small islands.

The best time of the year in the Tuamotus for wind and weather is June - October. During this time it is the dry season and we have reliable trades.

Getting there: International flight to Papeete, Tahiti (PPT) on United, or Air Tahiti Nui, then domestic on Air Tahiti to Rangiroa Atoll. From Moorea it's an easy 20-minute ferry back to Tahiti at the end of the trip.
